Igniting New Churches

Lafayette Community Church has gone through many changes in its brief history so far. We started as Southside Church, but after relocating to downtown Lafayette, we changed the name to be more relevant to a central location. However, God has opened the door for us to return to the southside of Lafayette and move into our first "permanent" location. We have signed our first 24/7 lease for worship services, offices, and educational space. We are thrilled!

Here are our top three praises:

1. We have a new location back on the Southside of Lafayette at a great price. It's much smaller than our current auditorium, but it will work better for us all around.

2. We have an associate pastor who is worth $70K annually but is willing to work for next to nothing as our Operations Pastor.

3. We have reached self-supporting status, empowered elders, and created a new set of bylaws.

Here are our biggest needs:

1. We are self-supporting largely because both my associate and I have wives who work full-time and provide insurance for our families. However, we have some very faithful tithers, so to be fully self supporting, we really need our attendance to increase by about 50%

2. I am still doing preaching and worship leading, but God is building up some potential worship leaders in our midst. We really need God to grow them to maturity so that they can take over the responsibilities of worship leading.

3. A dynamic worship service isn't enough to create and sustain growth. We need to improve our organizational structure, our follow-up methods, and our discipleship.
