Rev. Andy Husmann the former Executive Minister of Converge Michigan lost his beloved wife Donna last week.
Donna Mae Husmann of Norton Shores, Michigan, passed away at Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. She was 84 years old. Donna was born on October 26, 1932, in the farm community of Wyndmere, North Dakota, the daughter of Bruce & Bernice (Moen) Edgerton.
As a teenager, she became a follower of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior through the influence of friends in a local Baptist church. She faithfully served the Lord for the remainder of her life. After graduating from high school, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and briefly attended Northwestern Bible College and then was employed at Kelvinator Corporation. Donna met Andy Husmann, older brother to her roommate, Anna Husmann.
Andy was attending Bethel College and Seminary studying for the ministry. They were married in the Powderhorn Park Baptist Church in Minneapolis on September 12, 1959; that date began a life of serving the Lord in various churches and ministries in Minnesota and Michigan.
Donna enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting guests in her home, antique shopping, and most of all laughing with her boys and being with her ever-growing family. She was a godly, gracious spouse and devoted to her husband’s 58 years of Gospel ministry as well as being a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all.
Donna is survived by her husband Andy and their three sons, Tim (Robin) Husmann, of Copley, Ohio; Todd (Lesa) Husmann, of Muskegon, Michigan; and Torrey (Julie) Husmann, of Fruitport, Michigan. She has nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard (Gloria) Edgerton of Columbus, Ohio, and one sister, Karen Pinkham of Wyndmere, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Marlys Fangsrud and a brother, James Edgerton.
A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church (2250 Denmark St., Muskegon, 49441) with Rev. Thomas Siefert and Rev. George Kalb officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Donna’s memory may be directed to Mona Shores Baptist Church or Muskegon County Child Evangelism Fellowship.
