Pastors' Wives

We are devoted to caring for our pastors and their families.

A survey by Christianity Today reported that 90% of the pastors' wives responded that they enjoy or are happy in their role as a pastor’s wife.  They also reported that “the single biggest problem facing pastors' wives is that of friendship. Fifty-six percent said they do not have close friends in the church. For some (28 percent), this is intentional”[1].

To help with that reality Converge MidAmerica offers the following support, mentoring and gatherings to encourage our pastor’s wives in their unique role and to foster friendships outside of their church.

One-on-One Care

Mary Rohrmayer makes herself available to meet one-on-one with any pastor’s wife in our region.  This is confidential and happens face-to-face as well as phone calls, texting, and emails.

Minister’s Assistance Program (MAP)

We are pleased to offer a counseling referral program to our pastors and their families. All full-time pastors, pastoral staff, spouses and children (college age and under) are eligible to receive 9 sessions per calendar year (with a qualified counselor named on this site). Each session requires a $25.00 co-payment paid directly to the counselor by the pastor or family member.  For more information go to Minister’s Assistance Program  or call our office 847-692-4125.

Leading & Loving It Groups

We offer help in getting connected with a wider range of pastors' wives via Leading and Loving It Ministries.  This group helps pastor’s wives connect via Skype calls, with other PW’s that are in the same season of ministry.

Here is a link to an article written by one of our CMA pastor’s wife about being a part of this online community: You Are Not Alone by Heather Wilson

“I love the authentic nature in which we can share the joys and struggles of ministry life with each other!  In our group, there is no expectation for perfection, and there is no subject off limits; we talk about how to encourage our husbands, how to handle both external and self-imposed expectations, and how to help our kids work through hurt in the church. Together we lean into the idea that we have influence that can be stewarded to lift high the name of Jesus and strengthen our church family. Simply put, we encourage one another to hang on to Jesus in the midst of the crazy!"

Mentoring Program

We are always looking for ways to connect pastors' wives with other pastors' wives for formal and informal mentoring relationships. If you are interested in being a mentor or would like to connect with a mentor contact: mary@convergemidamerica.org

Regional Area Dinners (RAD)

We have special Regional Area Dinner gatherings with pastors and wives to create an opportunity for them to connect with other pastor’s wives and for us (CMA) to love on and show appreciation for our ministry couples.  If you are interested in hosting a Regional Area Dinner in your area, connect with our office mary@convergemidamerica.org.

Pastor’s & Wives Retreat

Biennially, Converge MidAmerica greatly subsidizes the Pastors & Wives Retreat to provide a getaway in a beautiful setting for CMA ministry couples to rest, enjoy a top-notch speaker and connect with other couples from our region. October 22-24, 2018

CONNECT Conference

At our Biennial Connect meeting, we offer several breakout sessions just for pastors' wives.  These are designed specifically to provide insight and encouragement for them as well as to make introductions with other pastor’s wives to encourage new and ongoing relationships as well.  October 23-25, 2019

Compass Program

In recent months, CMA has worked with the Converge Church Strengthening office to develop Compass, a multi-day experience that helps established church pastors and spouses evaluate their present personal and ministry health in order to be fully prepared for the next season.
